We are working to acquire and protect from development some of San Diego County's most beautiful natural open spaces. Will you help us by making a contribution to our Land Conservation Acquisition Fund? Why should I give? San Diego County, one of the most ecologically diverse counties in the nation, is experiencing a high rate of suburban development in its north inland area. This is rapidly consuming thousands of acres of open space, and with it, habitat for native plants, and both habitat and corridors for native wildlife. Hellhole Canyon is one of the few undeveloped and pristine canyons remaining in Valley Center, and indeed in all of San Diego County. Today, development at the periphery of Hellhole Canyon threatens local and regional connectivity of the Canyon. The Friends is racing to acquire from willing sellers biologically important natural open space near and adjacent to the Preserve that can be conserved for wildlife, for today's families and visitors to enjoy and for those who come after us. Will you please help us? Your donation will help our campaign to preserve Hellhole Canyon. Hellhole Canyon belongs to all. Your donation will help ensure that it will be there for future generations. Please read about an earlier Friends success story: Friends Complete Brown Land Acquisition, and please review our current campaign by clicking on the brochure pictured below. Because the Friends is an all-volunteer organization your contribution to our Acquisition Fund goes 100% to land acquisitions and is matched, in some cases, with grant and foundation support.
